Bill Yoscary worked not only as a photographer but backstage on Broadway as well. As house property master for the Neil Simon Theatre in New York City for 30 years, he worked in over 200 Broadway shows and numerous television productions. This afforded him the unique opportunity to photograph numerous celebrities in unusual and novel circumstances. His Broadway credits included such hits as My Fair Lady, Annie, Shenandoah, Company, Victor/Victoria, Damn Yankees, Biloxi Blues, Brighton Beach Memoirs, The King and I, and Swan Lake.
Bill's work has been published in major magazines and newspapers throughout the United States and abroad such as Look Magazine, Sports Illustrated, Applause, the New York Post, Parade Magazine, and the Daily News as well as in numerous other publications. As photographer for the Gotham Book Mart in New York, he photographed many contemporary poets and writers including Anais Nin, Alan Ginsberg, Viva, Andy Warhol, Truman Capote and Arthur Miller to name just a few. Solo exhibitions of his work have included showings at the Gotham Book Mart and the Donnell Library Center of The New York Public Library. In addition, Bill is an accomplished sculptor having sculpted busts of Melina Mecouri, James Earl Jones, Jason Robards and many other celebrities.
